For the sole purpose of giving Waters a heart attack-
EPIPHANY;;
True, she took immense pleasure in torturing the Riku Replica, taunting him with his unreal memories, identity, heart, everything she could.
True, she had sadistically tormented Namine, threatening electric shock when she didn't obey.
Still true was the fact that she enjoyed Sora's distress as he walked the path of his memories, only to discover they were vanishing one by one.
All of these events had been trademarked with her high-pitched yet evil cackle, laced with malice and dripping with ill intent.
But, at quiet moments when little was happening, she sometimes wondered if her Other was so sadistically inclined. After observing the obvious differences between Roxas and Sora, she had concluded that, when she was a Somebody, she had been quite the caring individual.
Larxene also concluded that her Somebody was an embarrassment and deserved what she got.
Then, she pondered the question all Nobodies must answer at some point in their existences: if they would rather be their Somebody, or exist as a whole new person.
She whole'heart'edly answered “new person”. Her theory of her Other, along with the memories she possessed, disgusted her. The memories she retained had informed her that her Somebody's identity was Raelen, and that she had aspired to be a psychologist.
No wonder she knew the fragilities of the mind so well, and was able to soothe or agitate it at will. 'Twas one of the reasons Xemnas had dubbed her the Savage Nymph.
But, even as a Nobody, it seemed she still retained a conscience. She couldn't help but to feel doubt about her actions when plotting with Marluxia to conquer the Organization, or when supervising Sora's progress through Castle Oblivion with Axel.
Of course, she attributed it to nervousness of being caught planning dastardly acts by.. certain loyal individuals, such as Saix.
No, she told herself, as she stared down at Namine's slight figure, protecting the fallen Sora from further harm, she enjoyed every second of this.
As she faded at the hands of Sora, though, she reflected upon past acts and contemplated her supposed conscience.
And had concluded that she had regrets.
The Organization's project to restore hearts to Nobodies was futile; deep down, they all knew it. Yet was it not the duty of all beings to quest for that which they didn't possess?
Because of that duty, was it right that she denied other beings the right to chase what they lacked?
Was it justified, to use Namine to provide Sora with obstacles, when the maneuver hadn't really benefitted the Organization's case at all?
Was it really the purpose of the Nobodies, being that they exist in neither light nor darkness, to hinder both?
No!
Larxene realized, as she faded, that even though the Organization felt that they had mastered all of Life's tricks and were rulers of the game, all beings were yet pawns in the worlds' grand design.
And with this realization, she faded in peace, knowing that even if she had failed in her simple quest to regain a heart, she had yet completed the quest for all beings – the pursuit of knowledge.
With her knowledge, she ceased to exist.
