Good morning everybody its me Redkit and I just can't wait you see I'm five moons old and will be apprenticed really soon. I can't wait to know who I'll be apprenticed to. Hmmmm let we see I wonder who our leader will choose I think the obvious choices in my opinion the obvious choices would be Whitestorm, Lionheart, or Thistleclaw. These three have been warriors for a while and will be anxious to pass on what they've learned to eager apprentices to help the clan. I don't know why but for some reason Thistleclaw well he just gives me this feeling when I see him its kinda creepy. Oh I wanna know so badly I wish I were apprenticed now.
YAY I'm so excited today I'm six moons old! and I'll be apprenticed oh oh who will it be I'm so nervous yet I have this awesome feeling, I know I'll be the best warrior ever! Its time and my mother has groomed me so well that my coat is shining like the reddest autumn leaf. As our leader calls the summons I see Whitestorm looking really eager as well oh I hope its him I met him once in the nursery and he's really nice and encouraging I'm sure no matter what he'd be a great mentor. Then I see Thistleclaw with a sort of twisted smirk on his face and I start to shake a little OH PLEASE DON'T BE HIM! Ok the leader calls me forward and I brace myself for the news..."Whitestorm" says my leader" you have shown great strength in your skills as a warrior and I know you will pass on what you know to Redpaw, You will be his mentor". YES I could almost leap for joy Whitestorm would be an awesome mentor I can't wait for my first day. I went up and touched noses with him and pledged my life to the warriorcode.
Yes today I am an apprentice and Whitestorm was going to take me out to explore the territory, I'll show him my dedication I said to my self as we headed out. When we got back I was awfully tired and was relieved to be with my denmates. The next day was battle training and I couldn’t wait to perfect my skills. Whitestorm showed me the training hollow and we began at once he showed me how to land on an enemys shoulders and back and I did it!......well that is till I lost balance and caused me and Whitestorm to tumble into the dirt. We laughed and then showed me how to hunt for mice, but I didn’t catch any today I guess I’ll just catch one tomorrow.
Stalking through the grass comes the best and stealthiest hunter in all of thunder clan he smells a mouse and inches forward ready to make his kill on silent paws “SNAP!” OH NO! The mouse hears the twig crack and Redpaw dashes after it only to miss it by its tail. “well you almost got it” said Whitestorm “just watch where you put your paws next time.”. Grrrrrrr “I’ll never get it right” I mumbled. I’ve been an apprentice for a moon and a half and still haven’t caught anything and my battle skills could use some work to. “I’ll go try over there” I said then suddenly I see it the biggest rabbit ever! I’ve just gotta catch it hmmm…..I’ve got an idea! I’d make to much noise if I tried to go straight for it but what if it comes to me. I pick up a small rock and bat it over the rabbit to a bramble bush on the other side. Yes the brambles rattle and shake and the rabbit bolts (Here it comes) I jump at it from behind a tree and kill it with a swift bite. Whitestorm comes in through a bush and says “Is something wrong I thought I heard a badger rumbling around over here” He sees my catch and his eye grow large “YOU CAUGHT THAT” I told him how and he said I had to be the most clever apprentice he’d ever seen we head back to camp as I proudly drag my catch back and remember my dreams and how great a mentor Whitestorm is and I couldn’t help shuddering with excitement as I thought of my first catch.
