Jadepaw trotted into the clearing with her mouth full of freshly killed prey. Ever since her mother Moonstar died everything was oddly different. Dapplenose was to be the new ThunderClan leader, though she hadn't yet traveled to the Moonstone.
'Hey Jadepaw!" called Smokepaw, "I was looking for you... Do you want to go hunting?'
'Oh I'm sorry.. I just got back and my paws are sore. Maybe later tonight?' she compromised.
'Sure thing Jadepaw.' he said with a disappointed tone.
The warmth of Sunhigh shone through the camp and made everything so peaceful looking. Still she wondered if life could ever be the same without her mother. She toyed at the thought of being clan leader someday, to carry on her mother's path. Jadepaw was very young, barely an apprentice, but still she had big goals and aspirations.
